You're responsible for being the creator of all things and experiences in your life, which means that everything is personal. Everything you experience in your life is simply a reflection of you. 10 Little Steps to Happiness
What is happiness? Happiness doesn't mean being joyful or laughing all day long. Although happiness should be defined by each of us for ourselves, a general understanding of it could be having more good moments and memories than bad ones and having an overall feeling of satisfaction and fulfillment. So, how can we have more happy moments?
- Give yourself permission. Give yourself permission to be happy. Many of us have the impression that we're not allowed to be happy, that we don't deserve it. Well, we're all WRONG! We ALL deserve to be happy, no matter what others say or even what we believe. And if you look deep inside you, you'll feel it in your gut. I am right. You DO deserve to be happy. So give yourself permission to be. Start enjoying that freedom. YOU CAN BE HAPPY.
- Smile... even if you don't feel like it. Yes, smile as often as you can. If you are with people, they'll feel warmer and respond likewise. If you're alone, smile for at least 3 minutes and your brain will take it as a real smile and will start producing feel-good hormones and other chemicals.
- Enjoy the now. Feeling bad about the past will not change it a bit and worrying about the future will not make you any more ready for whatever it is that finally happens. Hopelessness lives in the past, fear in the future. Choose the now and make an effort to live it. Only in the now can you truly be free.
- Like yourself. Make a list of everything you like in yourself, no matter how small or big and remind yourself of all those traits a few times each day.
- Love yourself. Every night, when you go to bed, devote a few minutes to just feel love for yourself. Thank yourself for anything good you did during the day and let the warmth of love fill you up. If that's too hard, close your eyes and look for the little child you once were and who still lives inside you and shower that kid with your love.
- Flip it around. Somebody tells you something or does something you don't like? You might get angry, upset or feel ill-treated. Or you might turn it around by being original and choosing to interpret it as a wakeup call or as a funny situation. They called you something... choose to find it funny instead of offensive. They push you, ignore you or even talk about you... choose to consider it just a reminder that we are all humans and, as such, make mistakes. Love the humanity in those who upset you.
- Dare yourself. Early in the morning dare yourself to do something unexpected or different throughout the day. Choose the action in the morning so you have the whole day to find the right moment to do it. You don't need to think of very difficult or adventurous plans but just something you wouldn't usually do, like going to a certain store or eating a new type of food.
- Share love. Say something loving to one person (or more) today. You can say it out loud or in writing. You can even draw it or sing it.
- Try new words. Are you one of those who often uses words such us... 'can't', 'don't know', 'never'... ? Why don't you try to use some easier ones like: 'don't feel like', 'would like to learn' or 'not in the habit of'... ? Or choose a positive or happy word you want to use today and try and apply it as often as you can. Be brave and imaginative with your words.
- Count your blessings. Take a piece of paper and something you like to drink and sit comfortably maybe with some nice music in the background. Then write. Write a list of all and every blessing in your life. Start with the smallest ones: I'm alive... to the biggest ones you can feel. Don't leave anything out. Once you're done, leave the list on the table. Read it every morning during breakfast for a week.

How to Stay Positive When You're Unemployed
1) Keep a gratitude journal
When you're faced with the fear of not being able to support yourself, or potentially your family, it's easy to get caught up in looking at what you don't have: you don't have an income, you don't have quality food, you can't pay the bills and you're drinking lemonade instead of champagne.
It's entirely understandable, but lethal, to focus on what you are without. You'll feel like a failure, which will prevent you from selling yourself as a winner on application forms and in interviews. You can spin this.
A wealth of psychological research shows that gratitude and happiness go hand in hand. Billionaire Oprah Winfrey has famously kept a gratitude journal since she was young. It's a simple, but transformational concept.
At the end of every day, you write down what happened to make you thankful. Did somebody hold a door open for you? Was your bill a little less expensive than you anticipated? Did your child do something beautiful?
No matter how tough your day was, you can always find something to appreciate. In your bleakest moments, you might find yourself simply writing "I am grateful that my sister let me use her shower" or even "I am still alive." It's in those moments that you'll truly understand the value of gratitude.
2) Treat it like it's your job
You're not unemployed. Your job is to get a job. It's probably the worst pay you've ever had, but if you work hard you'll be rewarded with skills in patience, persistence and, eventually, employment.
Imagine your new boss in a sleek suit, shaking your hand firmly and looking down at you. Would that boss be okay with you, pyjama-clad, strolling into the office at 11am, getting comfortable in front of the computer and opening YouTube?
Right now, you are your own boss. That means you have to get to the office at 9am every day. It means you have to work at polishing your CV, get advice from recruitment agencies, apply for jobs, maybe even practise your special skills or read up on how to improve your application forms and interview techniques.
Take an hour for your lunch, if you would do at work. Finish at the same time as you would do at work. Take weekends off.
This not only helps you get into a routine, but it stops you from feeling lazy and helps you keep track of how much effort you are putting into the job hunt.
3) Take breaks
I don't just mean take fifteen minutes to have a cup of tea (although I don't know what a cup of tea can't cure). I mean take a mental break. When you're faced with constant rejection and a lack of feedback, your motivation can plummet. You only have your own voice to listen to and, after a while, it might start saying "You can't do it", "You keep failing", "You're not as good as the other candidates" or worst of all "You'll never get a job."
What would your best friend say if they heard you talking about yourself like that? If they would say, "Your amazing because you keep trying" or "You're getting closer to the goal with each day, each application form and each interview so don't worry", you've chosen a good friend. Catch yourself when you are mentally beating yourself up. Take a break. Breathe. Tell yourself exactly what that good friend would tell you. Then say it out loud.
Self-motivation is incredibly important for success. It's the spark that will get that application started, that phone call made or that CV written.
4) Talk about it.
Bear in mind, 'talk' doesn't mean 'whine.' Moping is okay in small, infrequent doses but it's also something you just have to break through.
Share your experience with someone you trust. Have your friends or family members ever been unemployed? Ask them about it. How did they feel? What did they do to overcome it? Absorb all the advice you can and use it for yourself. You might (or might not) be surprised by how many people have been in a position similar to yours. This is not only the age of redundancy, but the age of people who feel freer to regularly change jobs and chase dream careers.
5) The Golden Rule: Never Give Up
You are not going to remain unemployed for ten years. It's not going to happen unless you work exceptionally hard at being unemployed or have unresolved psychological or physical issues blocking your way.
It might take months, it might take longer than a year, it might not be your dream job, but you are inevitably going to be employed. You are going to be financially supported somehow during your unemployment whether that be by savings, a parent, the government, a spouse or friend. There is always a way for you to get help. It can be agonisingly difficult and you might learn lessons about your pride, but it can be done.
I recently met a successful, vibrantly happy man who has a history of unemployment. When he was homeless, he had every right to dwell on this pain and fear. Instead, he used the golden rule to weather him through his storm. He had been employed before and knew he could do it again. He had recovered from an addiction and, because of that, knew he was strong enough to recover from homelessness. He had many more years of life ahead so he could try again. And again. And again.
You'll only get there if you try. Be gentle with yourself and never give up.

Success and Happiness Are Not the Same
As we grow up, we're told that reaching goals, specially the highest ones, will bring us happiness. Get the best grades, graduate from the best university, obtain the best jobs... And we launch ourselves to the task at hand. But let's now look back. How many of you REALLY felt happy while doing all that? How many of you felt relief instead of happiness? How many of you TRULY felt satisfied upon getting the best grades, graduating from university and obtaining the best jobs? How long did you feel that satisfaction?
We reach one goal to immediately set the next one in a never-ending race to always get the best and grandest. We want to succeed. We want to reach the top. But let's not fool ourselves. That has nothing to do with happiness, does it? The journey to those goals is most often not a very pleasant one: the long hours, the accumulated stress, the demands on our health and time... We invest so much of ourselves that there's nothing left to enjoy.
And what about reaching the top? What top? There's always another top upon the last one, isn't there? It's just never enough.
And still the world insists on selling us the idea that success equals happiness.
Truly happy people, on the other hand, consider themselves successful just the way they are; it couldn't be any other way, as it would mean lacking something and thus, by definition, feeling unhappy. They don't need to join the constant race for the best and the greatest. Depending on their personal definition of happiness, enjoying life and feeling content and satisfied might already represent success to them.
Some people include success into their definition of happiness, true. That's their choice. Happiness is a very subjective concept. The only question they then need to answer is how successful they need to be to consider themselves successful enough and thus happy.
So let's start calling things by their correct names. Success is one thing. Happiness is something else. And they don't necessarily come together.
Next time somebody tells you that in order to be happy you need to be successful, ask yourself what it is that YOU want from life. After all, you're the only one who can answer that question. And if the answer is to be successful, by all means, go for it. But don't pretend to be pursuing happiness. Be honest to yourself.
And whatever you do, enjoy life, ALL of it,

Starting Over - It Only Gets Better!
At the age of 38 I left the only career I had ever known to start over. Like many people I was looking for a better standard of living for both myself and my family. I had invested over 20 years in a military career and was at the top of my chosen field -- for which I received about $40,000 a year. Although the thought of starting over when I was almost 40 was daunting, I set a goal to make $100,000 a year within five years, hung up my guns, and ventured into civilian life. That was 20 years ago. I hit my goal of $100,000 a year in less than three years and went on to become a corporate director with a salary of over $200,000 a year in just over 10 years. But that's a story for another time. This article is about starting over.
In the past 20 years I have learned that there really is no starting over in life. We torture ourselves with self-depreciating thoughts that we have failed, wasted x number of years, or squandered our youth climbing the wrong mountain. When, in reality, we have gained new viewpoints, new skills, and new energetic patterns. You see, you can't start over because every day when the sun rises, you start from where you are and where you are changes with every life experience. I'm sure you've heard people say "if I could only go back to when I was 17 and do it again, things would be different!" But, as we know, we can't! It's the same with thinking you have to start over; it's not only a misperception, it's impossible! There is no regression - life moves forward!
If you have saved your money for the past 20 years to buy a house and then you change your mind and decide to buy a boat, do you tell yourself that you are starting over? No! You are simply redirecting your investment toward a new goal. It's the same with life. If you have invested the past 20 years running a log mill and now you want to sell real estate, do you tell yourself that you are starting over? Yes, most people do, and that's the flawed premise! The energetic truth is that you are simply redirecting your investment toward a new goal. In those 20 years running the log mill you learned supply & demand, interpersonal communications, finance, planning, and a host of other things. You also developed your intuition, learned the value of integrity, made friends, fell in love, walked your dog, and marveled at nature. All of those things changed who you are both intellectually and spiritually. Given all those millions of events, experiences, and feelings, you could not go back to who you were 20 years ago and start over if your life depended on it! As Dr. Wayne Dyer was famous for saying "if you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change." You did not spend 20 years, you invested 20 years. You are not starting over, you are redirecting your investment toward a new goal.
And one more thing (my tribute to Steve Jobs), you are never too old to redirect your investment toward a new goal. I'm 58 and planning to redirect my investments from the past 40 years into a new goal. I'll check back in with you in 2038 and let you know how it went!

MORNING MOTIVATION - What Successful People Do In the First 8 Minutes of Their Morning

Why Inspiration Is The Breath of Life
The thought that inspiration is the breath of life is not new. In fact, it's embedded in our social consciousness as an artifact that dates back to the root of the word itself. The word holds a tremendous amount of power that has been diluted over time reflecting the transition of human consciousness from oneness to individuation.
When we think of the word(s) inspire/ inspiration, it often means we're looking for something outside of ourselves to give us that push, extra nudge, or spark of an idea that will lead to some sort of accomplishment. Sometimes the words are used in reference to another, as if some behavior you exhibit might be the motivating force for someone else.
This is where things get tricky. There is a tendency for people to want to use the words "(to) motivate" and "(to) inspire" interchangeably. The desired outcome is to change a behavior, either in oneself or in someone else. The critical difference is that motivation is an energy that comes from inside the self. In other words, you can become motivated to do something with the right energetic force, but you cannot motivate someone else because you are standing outside of his or her internal energetic system.
The Root of Inspiration
Inspiration, on the other hand, is all about moving energy in the direction of another being. In fact, the English word inspiration originated from 13th century Old French inspiracion "inhaling, breathing in" and Late Latin inspirare "blow into, breathe upon," as in- "in" + spirare (spirit) "to breathe."
This sense of the word is the underlying concept behind some of the metaphorical phrases we use involving "breath."
- When we are stressed we need a breath of fresh air.
- When we are frustrated, we don't hold/ waste our breath.
- When we are excited, something or someone can take our breath away.
- When you feel pressures, you might feel as though someone is breathing down your neck.
- When you want to make something anew, you breathe new life into it.
- If you want to keep something secret, you don't breath a word.
The connection between the word inspiration and the relationship to "breath" as the source of life and flow of energy can be found in several Biblical references as well. For instance, the Hebrew word for inspiration is "nish'mat", pronounced [nesh-aw-maw] and is used several times throughout the Old Testament with the first occurrence appearing in Genesis 2:7.
Hebrew:
waYiytzer y'hwäh élohiyim et-häädäm äfär min-häádãmähwaYiPach B'aPäyw nish'mat chaYiymway'hiy häädäm l'nefesh chaYhäh
English Translation:
And (Yähwé) God formed man [of] the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
Many scholarly interpretations of this verse suggest the significance lies not just in the notion that God is the source of life, which is sustained through breath, but that the energy that comes through breath is the inspiration that gives us both a connection to and understanding of spirit.
The Shift in Meaning
A quick look at the Merriam-Webster dictionary demonstrates how the meaning of the word inspiration has shifted from a divine right (re: the breath of life) to something that is acquired. In fact, the dictionary even notes the sense "to breath into" is an archaic meaning.
The modern interpretation is:
- A divine influence or action on a person believed to qualify him or her to receive and communicate sacred revelation;
- The action or power of moving the intellect or emotions;
- The act of influencing or suggesting opinions.
This shift in meaning is a reflection of a collective thought system that embraces separation and worthiness. The emphasis is no longer on the life force and spiritual energy of breath. Rather, it focuses on the specialness of receiving divine intervention, which is only available to individuals who have the "quality" to receive it.
An even more common meaning, though, is that of influence (force) on one another.
The Need to Re-Align with the Source of Life
The word inspiration holds the vibrational energy necessary to re-align human consciousness with the source of life and breath is the medium through which it can be attained. Those who have a daily meditation practice know that focusing on breath is the key to self-awareness and accessing the higher self.
Guided breathing is also a powerful tool for calming an anxious mind and bringing the physical body back to a state of homeostasis.

Realize Your Road to Success - Smell the Roses Throughout the Process, Choose the Road Less Traveled
***Everyone and everything was meant to be loved, respected, and successful. Realize with open eyes that there is a gifting, uplifting smell of roses waiting for you, in the wings, when you set your sights to travel along the road less traveled. Study, learn, work hard, and do the right things in order to accommodate or accomplish your goals and dreams! It is a quintessential reward for you alone to reap, by all of the hard work you achieved. Success is found in the form of brightly colored, ornately designed or displayed, fluorescent attributes called roses. Roses are the form or gift that is given upon a well deserved or desired accomplishment, or even upon completing a satisfactory feat to some degree.
One of the simple reasons that we do not buy or send roses everyday is because they are expensive, valuable, uniquely refined and are usually gifted with a lot of forethought and command justice or merit. ***Roses serve as a form of congratulatory recognition.
If you are bold and brave enough to travel and successfully realize your particular road to success, I urge you to smell the roses. Even your smallest feats and accomplishments merit a self-imposed gift of roses. Reward all of your accomplishments and effort, especially those that are taxing and draining.
Sing songs of acceptance to yourself about the wealth of empowerment or improvement your life road has taught you. Sing songs that caution or display what your experience taught you to sing. As you sing on key sing or create a flowery song or verse, be apprised that your foresight or hindsight wasn't wrong. Throughout the entire road of processing experience, patience and perseverance you got wiser. Don't dismay. Appreciate what you learned, throughout the hurdles, unfair competition and challenges. Know your value, that you and ALL OF YOUR OUTSTANDING DEMANDING EFFORTS WERE ASTRONOMICAL AND VALUABLE!
Success is a road less traveled because it takes a lot of drive, ingenuity and let's face facts folks, there is unjust or unfair people out there that are not making the road along your journey any easier.
Whether thieves are plagiarizing, stealing or deleting your efforts along the road to success does not dismiss the fact that you need to do some weeding and cutting of chords. Remove and release any thorns that are dead and don't belong along your road to success. You must assuredly dislodge or disavow people or events that serve no good or genuine attention or purpose.
There should never be people, in the form of obstacles, that take away your Intellectual property, your organization of words, your work, or your ONLINE DISTINGUISHABLE identity to solicit or distribute your ideas, name recognition or property illegally for unlawful financial advancement, aggrandizement or gain. Do you agree with that? Doesn't matter. If you find that you are not being respected in your own online activity, personal life, home life, or on the public forum also known as the world -wide web, well then, "Houston, we have a problem!"
There are roads that lead to dead ends or charlatans and thieves that will exploit your kindness or lack of experience in marketing. In life there are many roads to travel. There are the roads less traveled because of the time and effort required to drive yourself successfully. Some roads are winding and narrow and may take a years of consistent, constant time, effort and originality and is necessary for keeping your desire and drive in continuous motion. Most of the regular or usual roads are easily driven, broad, bold and readily accessible to anyone who is cable of commuting. I dare you,"Choose to be original and different!" Broad and open roads do not lead to fulfilling your dreams. I ask you to consider yourself as the driving force that can align itself to realizing the road to lifelong success and happiness. Travel the road less traveled with me and watch the streets that you pass over or visit be aligned with beautiful roses, in bright beautifully amazing, and mind-blowing originality.
Be the best original example of how you are the driving force of your own success. Take a few moments a day to relax and engage the view of what your hard work has rendered for you, your continuous efforts with awesome blossoms of roses, tulips, daisies. Stop to enjoy the power of a sunflower, grown especially for you!
Every rose-lined road is unique and beautiful! Watch as you embrace and imbibe the smell of a hard won victory through your continuity, methodical effort and honest living. They, the rose roads, look and smell wonderful to you, me and to anyone else who chooses to work throughout the process of traveling the road to success. Only a thief, cheater, liar, and person of advanced age does the same thing over and over again expecting that driving along the road of cheating, stalking, and spying is a short-cut or a way to the road of success. The road of stolen and fleeting success is a dead -end. The stalker, spy and plagiarizing way of succeeding is by lying and cheating, and he actually knows that this kind of thinking is actually insane. He or they weren't expecting to get caught. Know this: Whatever you do, good or bad will catch up to you. The cheater, stalker and liar of advanced action and age, goes around getting enraged by the success of the honest, hard work performed by another and not by themselves. There is no sane or normal reason other than they mask and make excuses, evade the subject and skirt the issues by making confrontation speeches as self-defense and is gibberish and talk that is all about themselves. They throw a pity party and talk about how they are offended by the victim who was constantly stalked, blocked and censored by them. The victim is now looking down upon them. In reality, the liar and thief of advanced age is so full of hate and deceit that he even hates and deceives himself. How much more insane can anything be? You be the judge, let the jury deliberate, hmmm, wonder how this is gonna play out?
Those who chose to travel the road to success in dignity and finesse always receive their roses in the end! Traveling the road to success will drive you to higher plateaus of creativity, originality or enable you and YOU ALONE to travel the road alone! Enjoy the smell of roses growing and flowering for many years and many generations that will succeed you and me through the birth of our posterity and many more generations after them!

How to Create Your Best Year Ever
Personally, I've never been much of a "New Year's Resolution" person. Rather than setting goals, I prefer to set intentions. And my intention for the coming New Year is to create my best year ever!
This year I intend to make feeling good and being in alignment with Source my number one priority. Some of my other intentions include following my bliss, growing my coaching practice and jewelry business, and moving to Maui. I've already done some of the energy work and now I get to just go about my business of being happy, taking inspired action and allowing the Universe to deliver my desires to me.
If you feel inspired to follow my lead in dumping resolutions and setting intentions instead, here's how you too can go about creating your best year ever:
Connect With Your Inner Being
Your Inner Being, also known as your Higher Self or Soul, is the non-physical part of you and can see your life from a broader perspective. It knows everything about you and what you want, and knows the easiest path to get you there. Without this conscious connection, getting where you want to go is more challenging, and the journey a lot less satisfying. If you prefer to take the path of least resistance, let your Inner Being lead the way.
Establish Your Emotional Grid
An emotional grid is a process Abraham-Hicks suggests we use as a means to manifest our desires. They teach that the grid is vibrational in nature and the starting point of creating what we want. It is the foundation and framework for our manifestations. Once the emotional basis is established, the grid will fill in with all kinds of things that match our vibration.
To build the foundation for your best year ever, decide how you want to feel throughout the year and choose positive emotions, such as happy, free, prosperous, confident, etc., to get the momentum going. I recommend writing these down in a journal or posting them on a vision board so you can be reminded daily what your intentions are.
Clarify Your Intentions
Once you have connected with your Inner Being and established how you want to feel, it's time for some specifics. What would you like to accomplish in the coming year and why? What will bring you joy? If you're not sure, your emotional grid is enough to create an epic year, but it is so fun clarifying what you want and watching it unfold just as you intended. Again, I recommend writing it down and adding more details as you they come to you.
Act On Your Inspirations
As the days unfold, you will be guided by your Inner Being through impulses, synchronicity, and your emotions (feeling good means you're moving in the right direction, not feeling good means you're heading the wrong way). Pay attention and follow your inspirations as they arise. In the mean time, practice alignment (meditation, appreciation, visualization, scripting, etc) and go about your day with joy and a positive attitude. Being happy is fertile ground for your desires to manifest.
Enjoy The Journey
Like a painter or a potter, it's fun to create and watch your ideas take shape. But there is more to it then the end result. As you wait eagerly for your manifestations to take form, remember to enjoy the journey, because truly, that's where the satisfaction is. All the fun and joyous moments along the way are what life is all about. When you stay conscious of this every day, you can't help but create your best year ever - every year!

The Importance of Having a Good Perspective on Life
How many times have we had an opinion on something, been convinced that we were right, only to have someone else turn up with previously unconsidered information or introduce a different viewpoint, thus prompting a whole new way of thinking? Being ready to listen to another perspective is important. It keeps our minds flexible and adaptable and is an important part of staying youthful and tolerant of what else is happening in the world.
When we share how we feel about something and discuss our approach we're expanding all our minds. We're giving an indication of how our thinking works, our perspective on life. Some people's automatic default is negative. They're convinced that things are bound to go wrong, seem to always anticipate the worst. Others think differently and are more positive and optimistic. Our outlook pre-determines how much we let external factors influence us. That's why having a good perspective is so important.
- If we regard something as scary then we're bound to behave in a more measured, cautious, apprehensive way. Feeling nervous or afraid can deter us from trying too hard. We protect ourselves by not stepping too far from our safe place. Yet we could instead treat setbacks as minor hurdles or learning points, which will often result in us hardly noticing them. We won't think twice as our concentration flows into looking for options or solutions in order to keep going.
When we feel confident and hopeful about a situation we're more relaxed and focussed on a positive outcome. There's a saying that if you expect something to be good or bad, hard or easy, guess what - you're right! We set in place a framework based on how we see things working out.
- Our mindset automatically seeps into our approach to life and influences how we handle relationships, what we expect from people, what we anticipate happening. That mindset then impacts on how others treat us. Eleanor Roosevelt reportedly said, 'we teach people how to treat us'. Our expectations can alter the dynamics of a relationship. A winning philosophy generates the best chance of a good experience.
- If we're feeling happy or sad, that too can colour our interpretation of a situation. For example, seeing several people we know chatting and laughing can be viewed in two completely different ways, dependent on how we're feeling at the time. On a bad day we may be sensitive and feel uneasy, convinced that they're talking and laughing about us. We may already be feeling embarrassed, unhappy and witnessing their laughter reinforces our already fragile mindset.
On a good day we may not even notice those people, or we may simply think that they're having a pleasant time. Our perspective is influenced by our personal circumstances and inner dialogue. It affects how we interpret their behaviour. The right perspective makes all the difference and is a huge factor in how we then choose to respond.
- Taking time to ask questions, being genuinely interested in the answers and caring enough to try to understand what's being said is also relevant in supporting us having a good perspective. Knowledge, interest, information and genuine discussion gives us a forum in which to explore other viewpoints and opinions. Mental growth occurs grow when we're happy to respectfully question and understand other peoples' attitudes, ideas and views. Patience and tolerance are part of this approach.
- Our background, parents and schooling, how we've been raised, all have a massive bearing on our perspective on life. We may have clear views, for example, on the role of men and women, what constitutes a good marriage, the importance of looks and material possessions. We may feel incredulous that other people have different viewpoints, that the things that matter to us are of little significance to them. Understanding or at least being able to respect and defend their right to their opinions is an important part of forming successful adult relationships.
- Communication should be a two-way activity and sharing our opinions helps us negotiate ways to comfortably live together, helps others understand where we're coming from, why we feel the way we do and then perhaps be able to refine our perspectives. Just as we may feel strongly about how other people should behave, so others may also hold their own definite views, views that are diametrically opposed to ours.
And they will, no doubt, have valid, justifiable reasons for having those views. Sharing and learning about their reasoning may enable us to moderate or modify our perspective and help us become more tolerant and flexible. Listening provides an opportunity for reflection and then to evolve with each other.
Having the right perspective on life helps us improve our outlook, have a more vibrant, upbeat approach to life and oil the wheels of our interactions with others. Everyone benefits when we have a good, open-minded perspective on life.
